Not EVERYONE undergoes this treatment, but it's common enough as a way to deal with a part of your skin that you're not particularly happy about.ĭermaplaning: A procedure where an esthetician uses a blade to scrape off the dead skin and peach fuzz off your face. This is usually used to treat acne scars, remove moles, reduce wrinkles, minimize the size of pores. Laser treatment: You can get a full treatment that resurfaces the top skin layer on your face, or spot treatments. Not everyone goes to a skincare clinic ALL THE TIME, but it's one of the methods people choose to maintain their skin. The abundance of care that you can get in Korea is also helpful to those who are unfortunately not blessed with great skin to make their skin better. Even if you're born with perfect skin, in Korea it's very common to get regular facials, blackhead/whitehead removal, to KEEP your skin that way - maintenance is very important. There are a variety of things to maintain your skin. This is in part because I wrote a comment yesterday saying that idols look so perfect partly due to the intense treatments they receive, and for some reason people thought it meant that I was saying they had received some kind of surgery. I am not even going to touch on cosmetic procedures that actually alter your face (like fillers, plastic surgery) - but merely things that are super common. Since there was a lovely post about how we shouldn't compare ourselves to idols because of various reasons, I want to delve a little bit about skincare, beauty care culture in Korea, and other things.
